Desirable qualifications:The candidates should have demonstrated and proven leadership qualities in the field of research guidance and organizational management.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Position in the project entitled “Luminescence chronology of palaeoflood and dunes in the Kaveri Basin: Implications to past climate reconstruction” funded by Ministry of Earth Sciences.

The work comprises of locating paleoflood and dunes sites, trenching and sampling, analysis, geological mapping and high resolution luminescence dating of these deposits to understand past climate. We are looking for highly motivated and bright individuals have some experience in geological mapping and luminescence dating. The appointment is purely temporary and initially for one year and will be extended for another year based on performance (or funding of the project). No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate appearing for the interview.

Essential Qualification: Master’s in Geology/Applied Geology with NET/GATE.

Salary: 16000/- Rs. p.m. (likely to be revised)

Desirable qualification: Experience of geomorphic mapping using ArcGIS/ERDAS and working experience in a Luminescence Dating Laboratory.
